A bloody Save Rivers Movement Rally

Journalists, others attacked by hoodlums on Sunday as another rally turned bloody in River State, Nigeria.


The rally, held in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, was for the inauguration of the executive committee of the SRM in the area.

According to information available as at press time, the hoodlums who disrupted the programme had a free rein as policemen at the venue allegedly did nothing to stop them.

Journalists, who were at the event for reportage, were top on the list of those attacked by the hoodlums.
Just last week, a similar rally by the SRM turned bloody, with Senator Magnus Abe reportedly shot by the police.

Abe is in the United Kingdom receiving treatment for injuries sustained at the venue of the rally.
