Victor Anichebe, a Nigerian striker could miss his the trip
to Cardiff City ahead of West Bromwich Albion's Barclays Premier League game
this Saturday.
The 25-year-old did not take part in the Baggies training on
Thursday due to illness, West Brom's official website said.
Steve Clark, West Brom manager has received a boost with the
return of Frenchman Nicolas Anelka from injury and this could mean Anichebe
will not be risked for the game against the Bluebirds.
"Steve Clarke's only fear ahead of Saturday’s game with
Cardiff is Victor Anichebe. The Baggies striker today missed training due to
illness.
"But Nicolas Anelka is in contention for selection
against the Bluebirds after missing the last six games due to a niggling groin
problem.
"And Jonas Olsson is available again after serving a
one-match ban against Norwich," the Baggies announced on their website on
Thursday.
Anichebe has made 10 league appearances for West Brom
including first starts since joining from Everton in the summer.
