The
Former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El- Rufai has
been freed of charges of abuse of power by an Abuja High court on Friday.
Sources say the court exonerated Mr. El-Rufai of
criminal charges.
reports have it that the former minister and a leading opposition to the Federal
Government was charged under the Corrupt and Other Related Offences Act, 2000
for using his position to corruptly revoke a plot of land from its previous
owners (Power Holding Company of Nigeria
Plc) and re-award the same land to his wife, Hadiza Ahmed
El-Rufai.
